Eight races in two classes keep Snyman busy

Troy Snyman kept himself busy over the past weekend. The 2019 SA Mini Max karting champion once again did double duty as he raced eight heats in both Mini and Junior Max at the Rotax Max Challenge Finals at Killarney in Cape Town over the weekend. He took a double-podium while at it.

“It was another hectic day at the races,” Pietermaritzburg lad Troy smiled. “I spent the day jumping out of the big Junior kart straight from weigh-in and running to hop into the little Mini chassis and racing without a break at all. It was great fun — I love the challenge of adapting from the heavy, powerful Junior that I must wrestle all the way, to the little Mini that wants to be driven with absolute precision.

“I was happy with my  results too — we lacked the ultimate pace in both karts, so second overall in Mini and third in Junior was a good haul for the weekend. “We had a difficult time earlier in the season, so I was happy to just race and make the best of it. “There are still a few cool opportunities left to win this year, so I’m looking forward to that. Thanks to Ralph and my folks — I truly appreciate all their support!"
