Visser off to Finnish Academy duty

South Africa’s CIK-FIA Academy karter Charl Visser is in Sweden following a 28-hour 3-flight and 450km road trek to reach the Alahambra Kart track for the final round of the series on the verges of the Arctic Circle this weekend 21-23 July. The Durbanville, Cape Town lad is keen to deliver his best performance of the year as he closes off his Academy Campaign up north.

“Racing in the CIK-FIA Academy Championship has taught me so much,” Charl explained. “A lot of people have contributed to making this dream come true for me so I am really keen to deliver my absolute best this weekend — it’s been a tough journey so far but an incredible experience all round, so I’m really hoping for a trouble-free weekend to be able to deliver my best.”

Charl, who lies a strong second in his rookie year in the South African Junior Max Championship and sits in the top three in his local Western Province title race in that class, will miss his local round, which clashes with his Swedish adventure. “My CIK-FIA Academy experience has been fantastic thanks to MSA’s faith in me - I want to show my thanks to everyone who made it all possible with best results in Finland — bring it on!
