New Red-Lined Navara Stars in Gauteng

Red-Lined Motoring Adventures endured a race of contrasts at the weekend’s fourth round of the SA National Cross Country Series Bronkhorstspruit 400. Ernest Roberts and Henry Kohne tamed the barren mieliefields to come home fourth on debut in the FIA class aboard the team's all-new VK-56 Nissan Navara, while Jaco van Dyk and Michel Rust retired late in the race after another strong performance.

Star rookie Roberts raced his all-new Navara with Henry Kohne in place of regular navigator Riaan Greyling in the Gauteng race and was delighted to return to his early season form. “That was a perfect debut for our brand new front-mid engined 5.6-litre Nissan VK 56 V8-powered JCP Roofing Red-Lined Navara,” Ernest admitted. “I settled in to Henry’s instruction quickly and despite my suffering cramps later in the race, it was a brilliant run. “Thanks to the team for a great effort!”

Namibian rookies van Dyk and Rust were enjoying another strong run in their older specification Navara following their Road to Dakar win last time, but they had to call it quits after damaging the car late in the race to bring their impressive six-finish debut run to an end. “We had a good run, but it was not to be,” Jaco explained. “Our pace and speed was good and we were looking at another great finish, but that's racing — you can’t win them all! “Now it’s onward and upward — we can’t wait for Harrismith!”

“We are more than happy with the performance of our all-new VK-56 race car,” Red-Lined’s Terence Marsh concluded. “Ernest’s result proves the new machine to be a good step ahead in spite of the race being a shake down for it, so we are excited at the prospects going forward. “Sorry for Jaco, he was on a 6-finish run while running comfortably in the top ten once again, but that’s racing. “We will be back with a four-car effort at the Harrismith 400 13-14 September — bring it on!”
