Lupini revelling in a competitive class
Giordano Lupini is looking to capitalise on his good start to the 2018 BurlyPro GTi Challenge Class C racing campaign at the second round of the Wingfield Motors Power Series at Killarney, Saturday 10 March. Bridge House College Franschhoek matriculant Lupini brought it home a hard-fought third at the season opener last month and he’s keen to take a step or two up the class podium this weekend.
“This class is just getting better and better,” Giordano explained. “We came to race Class C of the BurlyPro GTi Challenge because we have to beat a very strong field of highly experienced rivals to win. “Now I believe Brett Roach and Ebrahim Levy are also coming back to join in the fun this weekend — we already have multiple champions from across the globe in Marco Busi, Bryan Morgan, Shane Williams, and Chris Swart as well as several other very quick guys, so the more, the merrier!
“It also means I really have my work cut out to be in the top six to even score points, never mind get on to the podium — there is no trophy hunting here, to win I need to beat the best, so I’m really looking forward to the weekend. “We are starting to get on top of our ‘new’ car too, we’ve tested quite a bit since last race and I think we have a bit more to come too, so here’s to a great weekend — may the best man win!”
