New kart, new class for Oliver
Bryanston kart racer Oliver Gunner is quietly confident in the build-up to the opening round of the South African Senior Max Karting Championship at Vereeniging’s Laserfische Raceway Monday 20 March, as he prepares for his first race in the open class at national level this weekend.
“After moving up to Senior Max this year and doing well in the regional, I am confident that I will show good pace this weekend,” Saint Stithians College Grade 10 scholar Oliver admitted. “I’m especially excited since Vereeniging is one of my home tracks and I’ll be racing my new d’Amico Attorneys Tony Kart for the first time this weekend.
“The new chassis arrived a few weeks ago. It felt very good and we have put in a massive amount of effort to prepare for this after the regional. “Senior Max will be super competitive at national level though and I’m up against some really quick and experienced rivals, so there’s also lot’s to learn — let’s do this!”
