Coetzee chasing Junior & Senior success

Western Cape high school Junior Max karting champion Jason Coetzee is intent to take home both the Junior and Senior Max first place trophies at Saturday’s second round Western Cape Kart Championship race at Killarney in Cape Town.

Jason remains unbeaten in Junior Max in the Cape six races, but he is now itching for that first Senior Max win following some positive progress in the open age group class. “I have had a very good run in Juniors at regional level so that’s a matter of keeping up my pace there.

“Senior Max is a bit more of a challenge as I have to beat a few really quick guys like Luke Herring, Dino Stermin and Umpie Swart who have been racing there for a while and they are really quick, but I have had a few good results — seconds and thirds there and now it’s just a matter of that first win — it would be great to take both classes overall on the day and that’s my aim now.”

“Neither class is a foregone conclusion though and it’s actually a big ask, but I have a great team around me in my trainer Kohen and his family; my family and my awesome team RKT and we know we can do it – see you at Killarney!”
