Aberdein set for wild Norisring F3 action

Jonathan Aberdein heads to one of the toughest challenges of his race season when the FIA European Formula 3 Championship heads to the short, tight and treacherous Norisring for its third round 22-24 June. Capetonian F3 Rookie Aberdein has scored points at both Pau and Hungoraring in the opening two rounds ands he’s keen for the challenge at another tricky racetrack.

“I’m looking forward to driving on the second street circuit of the year,” Jonathan admitted. “We run a completely different downforce configuration for this track, so it’s basically driving a whole different car, while driving at Norisring will be like being a Roman gladiator with a huge crowd crammed around a tiny track and waiting for the action to unfold on one of its super-tight hairpins or ninety-degree turns - I can’t wait!”

Aberdein’s weekend starts with practice on Friday before qualifying for the first race later in the afternoon and then the first of three 35-minute races Saturday morning and then two qualifying sessions for each of Sunday’s races on Saturday afternoon.
