Van Zijl intent on national kart success
Cape Town kart racer Kai van Zijl can’t wait for his home round of the 2017 South African Mini Max karting championship at Killarney this coming Saturday 29 April. Kai, who has just turned 13, has shown great form in WP regional races at Killarney this year and also delivered a strong performance at Vereeniging’s opening national, is keen to take home first prize again this weekend.
“It’s going to be hard,” SAKRA driver Kai admitted. “I have some really tough competition this weekend — not just from my regular Cape Town rivals, but I’m sure the rest of the country’s drivers who care coming to race at Killarney this weekend are just as determined to win as well.
“There are so many factors that could affect a race day, so I need to put my best foot forward, use the skills I have been taught, have a positive outlook and do my best - most of all I can’t wait for the weekend - national races are great - especially at home!”
