Mokoena makes Mini Rok his own

Paulshof kid Kwanda Mokoena took no prisoners as he stormed to an emphatic SA Mini Max National Mini Rok Karting victory at Killarney, Cape Town over the weekend. 13-year old Mokoena moved into the championship lead when he stormed to three dominant race wins out of three on Saturday.

“When asked to comment about this weekend I just laughed as I am not good with words.” Kwanda smiled. “I left Cape Town very emotional and hurt two weeks ago at the Rotax Nationals so I told my mom that I was going to go back to Cape Town stronger than before and I promised her I was going go win.

“I had felt that I had let my mentor Thabs and myself down last time at Killarney and also, after losing out in the last Mini Rok national at iDube; this was my way of focusing on my mistakes — I just knew I had to make good of this weekend. “So I thank God, my right hand man Thabs my team Squadra Corse, RKT and my parents — this one is for you as I couldn’t have done it without all of you.

“Also to every driver out there on the day you are all champions and my friends - thank you and well done!”
