WP Cadet title second within Mostert’s reach

He may be a little fellow, but six-year old Luan Mostert will race with all his heart and more, as he heads to the final round of the WP Cadet Karting Championships at Killarney 21 October. Mostert sits third in the championship, just 7 points behind Ethan Deacon in second and two points ahead of Reese Koorzen, although leader Joshua Smit is well in control up front, but a strong day at the races can bring huge rewards on Saturday.

“It is so exciting!” Luan explained. “The championship is so close for second — any of us can do it, but I want it to be me!  “We have had another long break since the last race, but we have been down to the track quite often and I have found my pace back - I’m quicker than I have been all year.” Luan is looking forward to a jam packed Cadet grid with new rivals who have moved down from Johannesburg to add to the fun, while class newcomers Ryan Karriem and Matthew Smit are getting faster, so there could be a few interesting twists to Saturday’s title fight.

“I really enjoy spraying the champagne, so I hope I can do a lot of that on Saturday. “Kito Perdigao has been working hard on my Italian 32 kart, so it’s up to me to get on the podium again!”
