Team heads into home race on front foot

Pepper Racing is keen to continue its recent dominant form when the Engen Polo Cup visits the team’s home track at Zwartkops for Saturday 18 August’s Extreme Festival races. Shaun La Reservee took the overall win for the day at a treacherously wet Port Elizabeth last time out, while a competitive Tasmin Pepper’s weekend was terminated by an overzealous rival and the Campos brothers rescued tough breaks with goods points paying finishes. All four are now after best possible results at home.

“The season started a bit slowly for me, but I had a really strong weekend last time out, so the plan is to keep that momentum rolling,” Alpine Pepper Racing Polo driver Shaun La Reservee promised. “The guys always give us the best machinery and Zwartkops is essentially our home race, so it's time to reward them for all the effort, but I am also slowly edging back into the title race and the plan is to keep on building on those points — bring it on!”

“I’m really looking forward to Zwartkops, it treated us really well last time and we are hoping for a repeat this time around,” Electric Life Pepper Polo lass Tasmin Pepper explained.” The team has put a huge effort in getting my car ready after that incident in Port Elizabeth, so let’s give them the results they deserve — I am ready to deliver.”

“I’m preparing myself for another hard-fought weekend with lots of bumping, rubbing and racing,” Turn 1 Insurance Pepper Racing Polo driver Jason Campos admitted. “Zwartkops is home to most competitors, so the gap between everyone is minuscule and half a second can be the difference between the top three and the bottom three, so it is crucial to focus on getting a clean lap in qualifying for any chance of a decent result.”

“I had a really tough weekend down in Port Elizabeth, so I'm really looking forward to getting back to Zwartkops,” Campos Transport Pepper Racing Polo driver Keegan Campos pointed out. “Now I’m looking for a strong result to make up a good few positions in the championship race — it’s coming down to the final stretch now and every point counts in this wild company.”

“We always love racing at Zwartkops and Saturday will be no exception,” team boss Iain Pepper concluded. “Shaun is on a roll, Tasmin is set to bounce back and Jason and Keegan have proven what they can do, so bring on the racing — this should be a really good one!”
