Charl, Kyle in thick of SA kart fights

Visser Brothers Charl and Kyle both head to the 2017 South African Rotax Max Challenge Karting Championship finals at Zwartkops Saturday 23 September in the thick of their respective, ferocious title battles. The Durbanville, Cape lads have fought hard throughout the year, with reigning SA Maxterino champion Charl chasing the 2017 Junior Max title, while 2017 SA Mini Rok Under-10 Champion Kyle is in with a chance of wresting this year’s Maxterino title too.

“I’m lying third in the championship just 15 points behind, so anything can happen,” Charl Electric ZKS FA Kart driver and 2017 South African CIK-FIA International Academy driver Charl explained. “We have won a few rounds overall and scored consistently through the year, but I am going to have to pull out all the stops this weekend - I really enjoy Zwartkops too, so I can’t wait for the weekend.”

“We had a very good day,”  Charl reported. “Our engineer Zefrey Ngoben has done a brilliant job and his Zefrey Kart Speed engines have made the difference to allow us to chase for wins, so I was very happy to reward him with that first place in the Final on Saturday. “Now we go to Zwartkops with a fighting chance in the national Junior Final - thanks so much to my dad, Zefrey and everyone who makes it happen.”

Younger brother Kyle may not appear to be in title contention on the face of it sitting sixth, some 40 points off the championship leader, but he has an ace up his sleeve in that he will drop two dismal races out of the three races from his score in the championship, which could see him straight back in contention. “I must just go there and do my best,” Charl Electric ZKR Zanardi driver Kyle admitted. “Hopefully we can come home with a better than expected championship result.

“We need to thank my dad and our race engineer Zefrey Ngoben for all the work they do on our karts,” Charl concluded. “Kyle and me are going all out to reward all their hard work this weekend.”
