Jason wraps up dominant title

Durbanville lad Jason Coetzee wrapped up the 2016 Western Province Junior Max Karting championship in the same dominant style he had led it throughout the year as he won two of the three races on the day to also take the overall win aboard his RKT Kosmic.

“That was a fun day’s racing — I enjoyed it a lot,” Jason admitted. “I had a good start to the day when I put it on pole position and then we won the first and the second heats, but Dario Busi won a very well driven final race. "I am very happy with how my day went and I’m delighted with winning the Western Province championship." This is Coetzee's second major karting title on top of his SA national Maxterino crown in 2013.

“I would like to thank my karting friends for the awesome year of racing and my trainer Kohen Bam, the Bam family and of course my mom and dad and my family — without you guys this wouldn’t have been possible. “Now we will focus on the KZ2 Finals in Bahrain in two weeks — we just cannot wait!”

Jason heads to the Bahrain races considered to be among the premier karting events around the world as part of a South African team that will compete in the 15-20 November meeting.
