Coetzee to take on best in Bahrain

Durbanville scholar Jason Coetzee is ready to take on the world’s best as he heads to the 2016 CIK-FIA World Junior Karting Championships as part of a Southern African team at Bahrain’s International Kart Circuit 15-19 November.

Western Cape Junior Max championship and a frontrunner in the South African championship, Jason can’t wait to race against 100 of the world’s top karters in arguably the world’s biggest karting race of the year. “This is going to be something to remember because it’s different engines and track and we also racing in the night,” Jason explained.

“So I can’t wait for Bahrain - there are lots of things to get used to but I love a challenge!” the Hoërskool DF Malan Grade 9 student concluded. “Thanks so much to my mom and dad for the opportunity to be part of this amazing experience — this is the big one — bring it on!”

Coetzee will race in Bahrain as part of a four-kart Southern African Junior Team alongside Bloemfontein kid Stuart White, Cape compatriot Sebastian Boyd and Mozambican lad Karl Pitzer.
