Columbian makes best of Indy, NASCAR, F1 experience to beat racing's best

Juan Pablo Montoya took victory in his first ever Race of Champions in Miami Saturday when the indyCar driver and former F1 and NASCAR star used his broad experience to defeat Mr. Le Mans, Tom Kristensen. Montoya had lost a heat race to Felipe Massa, but the Colombian went on to win all his play-offs to beat Travis Pastrana in the quarter-finals, Massa in a controversial semi-final and then he defeated ROC regular Kristensen to claim the big prize.

In the quarter finals, Pastrana beat defending Champion of Champions Sebastian Vettel to Group A  while Massa beat Pascal Wehrlein, but the German rolled his Polaris car after colliding with Massa beyond the finish line. Montoya beat WRX hero Petter Solberg; Jenson Button beat Tony Kanaan and David Coulthard toppled Kristensen 

The quarter-finals saw Montoya dispose of Pastrana, Massa comfortably besting Castroneves; Kristensen take a close win over Button and Coulthard beat NASCAR hero Kyle Busch; before Montoya controversially beat Massa in the first Semi Final when the Brazilian was penalised. Kristensen then narrowly beat Coulthard in the second Semi, before Montoya reigned supreme to take thew final over Kristensen.
