Junior and Senior action for Coetzee
Western Cape high school Junior Max karting champion Jason Coetzee is preparing for double duty as he tackles both the Junior and Senior Max classes at this weekend’s first round Western Cape Kart Championship race at Killarney in Cape Town.
“It’s going to be a busy day, but I’m really looking forward to it,” Jason pointed out. “The trouble is both classes are super-competitive, so it’s going to be a fight all the way. “I’m looking forward to taking up my old battle with Sebastian Boyd and Dario Busi in Juniors, but it’s just as exciting to be racing against Dino Stermin, Luke Herring and Umpie Swart in Seniors.
“The two karts are quite similar, the Senior is more powerful and heavier than the Junior and it laps a bit quicker on a softer tyre compound,” RKT Kosmic driver Jason explained. “It’s not a giant step, but I am driving against older guys there, so I’m looking forward to that. “Let’s race!”
