Quite plausibly the littlest lad in Cape racing, Luan Mostert is looking forward to building on a most encouraging start to his rookie Cadet karting season when he tackles the second round of the championship aboard his Andre Mostert Vervoer kart at Killarney Saturday 11 March.

“We had a very good first race,” the Brackenfell six-year old admitted from Killarney on Thursday afternoon. “We have been to the track often since then and put in extra days at the track and my dad, my grandpa, Luke Herring and the team have made a few changes and Kito Perdigao has helped me with the engine and my training engine, so we want to do even better this time.”

Luan is also most excited to spend the day racing with his friends. “I have made good friends with the guys I race with — Joshua, Eric, Reese and Ethan and it’s so cool at Killarney when we play a lot and then go race!”
