Strong second gives Daniel faith
Daniel Duminy went home happy from the second round of the Northern Regions Karting Championship at Vereeniging’s Laserfiche Raceway on Saturday. The Ballito racer was satisfied to have had a positive weekend following a few trying weekends at the races.
“That wasn’t a bad day!” Daniel explained. “I’m happy with second, you can’t take it away from Cameron O’Connor today — he drove super well and deserved it all — well done Cameron! “My day was good enough - we had a brilliant dice in the last race so I suppose it was luck of the draw who won, but most importantly we had a positive weekend after a few tough ones both in the kart and in the Polo.”
“I just want to say thank you to my family and to my SMD Racing team — Ricky Perdigao, Robert, Bjorn and Etienne at RKT — we will come back stronger!” Daniel’s next racing appointment is the second round of the Engen Volkswagen Cup aboard his SMD Pepper Racing Polo at Kyalami 22 April before the karting national at Killarney a week later.
