Endurance racing back to Killarney 13 May

The Mopar South African Endurance Championship has confirmed the Campos Transport Cape 400 as its next round at Killarney in Cape Town, Saturday 13 May. The Campos Transport 400, along with a pair of South African GT Challenge races, will highlight Killarney’s regular Power Series round on the day.

“In keeping with our mission to have each of the rounds of the 2017 Mopar South African Endurance Championship presented as a feature race, we are happy to announce that the second round scheduled for Killarney will be run as the Campos Transport Cape 400 Saturday 13 May,” SAEC Commercial Manager Mike Schmidt confirmed.

“It will be the main race of the day run over 400 kilometers and supported by SA GT Challenge Sprint and Feature races, along with among Killarney’s regular Cape Town Power Series race day highlights. “The Campos Transport Cape 400 is a must on any Cape race fan’s calendar following our successful recent Killarney 3 and 9 hour races. "We hope to attract a good few additional local Cape entries to join our regular grid, which already includes several Cape teams,” Schmidt concluded.”

Killarney's South African Endurance Championship round was originally scheduled for 22 April, but was shifted to its new May date to accommodate clashes with other national events. Watch this space for more news on the race day, entries and other developments.
