Off Road Team Pepped up for busy fortnight

The Pepson Plastics Husqvarna Motorcycles Off Road Team heads into a busy couple of weeks with an appointment at the Dundee SA Cross Country Moto round in KwaZulu Natal this coming weekend 12-13 May, while the Enduro team will be out in force at the Western Cape National in Robertson a week later.

Husqvarna hotshot Brett Swanepoel heads up the Pepson Plastics Husqvarna Cross Country team and he goes to Dundee in the lead of the 350cc OR2 class and sitting third overall behind a pair of Open riders. “I had a great start to the Cross Country championship with a class win and third overall,” Brett confirmed. “I am ready for the weekend and my Husqvarna is strong, so I hope to do more of the same in KZN this weekend — bring it on!”

There will be little rest for the team after Dundee, as it has to trek all the way to Robertson in the Cape to be ready for the National Enduro there a week later, where Henco Botha will be aiming to pick up on his awesome start in this Enduro E1 championship, while Brett Swanepoel will be keen to get his championship on the map following a tough start to his Enduro season.

“I have had a great start to the season,” Henco admitted. “I was third and a fifth in the opening rounds and I go down to the Cape third overall in the championship behind Bouverie and de Wet, so the focus is to get my Pepson Plastics Husqvarna to the finish in front this time around — I can’t wait for the weekend.”

“I have had a difficult start to my Enduro season,” Brett confessed. “I missed the first race due to injury and retired from the second, but I’m ready to bounce back in the Cape — there is a lot of ground to make up this side and it’s not impossible, so I'm fully focussed on finishing in the best possible position to start my fight back.”

“It’s been an amazing start to the 2017 season, Pepson Plastics Husqvarna Motorcycles Off Road Team title sponsor Iain Pepper pointed out. “We are proud to be a part of the best team of riders, families & team management — Henco Botha has produced two epic rides so far and Brett Swanepoel has bounced back from injury like a true champ. "We have no doubt they bring us some more podium pie in the next 2 weeks.

“As a Husqvarna rider in the Off Road Masters class, all I want to do is have some fun in Dundee with our incredible team, so if I can crack a top 5 finish then that would be great,” Pepper smiled.

Husqvarna was the world’s first dirt bike maker in 1955 and the brand is today a dominant force in world motocross, enduro and off-road racing. The Pepson Plastics Husqvarna Motorcycles South African Off Road team rides on Metzeler Tyres, uses Bel-Ray lubricants, is equipped with FMF exhausts and pits with Portable Shade, where the team uses Snap-On Tools and depends on 32Gi Nutrition.
