Oliver over the moon with second

Bryanston Karting kid Oliver Gunner went to Vereeniging’s third round of the Gauteng Northern Regions looking for a solid point haul. And then it rained.

They call the wet conditions the great equaliser on the kart track — it affords drivers the rare opportunity to shine no matter what the set-up of the machine or how it reacts to the rubber laid down on a dry track and young Gunner took that opportunity to show off his underlying skills with both hands as he drove to far better than expected second overall for the day.

“Overall I am very proud of my performance this weekend,” Saint Stithians Grade 9 scholar Oliver admitted. “I’m also very happy that the result came in the wet and I would very much like to keep this momentum going. “I would like to thank Lyle and Xtreme racing and my sponsors D'Amico Attorneys. “At least now we can go back to Zwartkops in a few weeks looking forward to some more action! “Can’t wait!"
