Positive weekend at the Vaal for Jason
Durbanville, Cape kart racing star Jason Coetzee enjoyed another busy but positive day at the Rok Cup races at Vereeniging’s Laserfiche Raceway over the weekend, scoring an overall win in the new Super Rok class and fighting back from a slow start to end second in the MSA Academy Trophy class.
“Saturday was good,” Jason admitted. “Super Rok went very well and I am happy with my performance — I can’t complain about taking pole position and winning the first and third races to take the overall win for the day. “My MSA Academy Trophy races were a bit more of a challenge — we struggled to start, but we found pace and it got better as the day went on, so the races that counted were good for the championship chase and overall is not too bad.
“The Academy final was great though - we were three karts within 0.15 seconds and I set the fastest lap in the last two races too. “Thanks as always to my team - my dad and uncle Henry Bam for the great karts every race and all the guys at RKT.”
