Pressure across board for Coetzee

Jason Coetzee is shaping up to a very busy weekend at Killarney’s sixth-round Western Province Karting Championship races Saturday 12 August. Coetzee has no less than nine races scheduled for the weekend, which counts toward both his local and national championship chases, while he is also keen to be the first driver under the 40-second mark in a DVS race.

“I am going to be quite busy on Saturday,” Jason smiled. “It’s a South African Rotax Max Challenge meeting so everyone will be racing to be sure to score those national points too, but I’m very excited, so let’s see what happens. “I will give it my all for these last few finals and races.”

Jason leads both the national and WP high school Junior Max championships and sits second in the WP Senior Max chase and third in that national chase. “Every point I score in the Max classes is critical,” Coetzee concluded. “But there’s no pressure in DVS so that should be fun - let’s see if any of us can do that first 39-second lap!”
