Sebastian takes a double win at home

Camps Bay kart racer Sebastian Boyd may be leading the South African National Junior Max championship, but he’s fighting back as hard as he can in his local Western Cape championship chase. Boyd did his chances no harm at all with a double win at Killarney’s penultimate WP races to take the overall win for the day as he also closed down the gap to arch-rival Jason Coetzee over the weekend.

“Saturday was good!” Sebastian reported. “Pole position by three-tenths, two race wins and the overall win for the day allowed me to take ten points out of Jason’s Cape championship advantage. “Thanks so much to my dad and Luke Herring for all their input and to everyone else who helps make this happen — and it's really great to win to make it even more worth all their while.

“Now we focus on the National Finals at Zwartkops — there’s a Junior Max World Final seat in the offing and I want to write my name on it,” Boyd concluded. “We also slightly opened up our national lead on Saturday and I take a points advantage to Zwartkops on 23 September, so it’s all to play for — bring it on!”
