Tiffany Napier heads to Zwartkops’ final round of the 2017 South African Junior Max Karting Championship Saturday 23 September keen on the best possible results, but the Johannesburg lass is not taking anything for granted. Napier, who delivered an excellent performance at both the Gauteng Regional and the African Open last time out, refuses to rest on her laurels and if anything, her performance has inspired her to achieve even greater results.

“The last National has four heats on the day and the last two races are long,” Tiffany explained “I know that fitness is important for my endurance and concentration levels, so I've upped my physical training to a much higher level of intensity. “I also drove in the last club races to maximize seat time, hone my race craft and boost my confidence and that worked very well — I ended up second for the day on really old tyres against some good competition and that's given me quite a boost. 

“It’s been a tough year — a combination of handling issues on my kart and some really bad luck, my nationals were not as good as we’d hoped, but there is a sting in the tail that could play nicely into our hands. “See, we all drop our three worst scores in the championship, so every position and because I will drop three terrible results from my total while some of my championship rivals will drop far more points thanks to their scoring well earlier in the year, I have the chance to make a big jump in the championship

“So I’m determined to make amends with the best possible results at the final round my home track at Zwartkops and maybe surprise with my final championship score. “Special thanks in advance to Corrie Liebenberg of the BirelART Racing team and to Mark Williams of GMP for the excellent race kart and engine preparation — lets do this!”
