Motorsport Festival to thill this weekend

The Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit hosts the Motorsport Festival on Saturday, where a jam-packed program is ready to thrill fans on what promises to be a perfectly balmy afternoon for racing at the Johannesburg racetrack.

Enthusiasts can expect great racing throughout the day, with both South Africa’s premier Sasol GTC championships still up for grabs, the G&H Transport Extreme Supercars set to deliver incredible action, the rolling thunder of the V8s and no-holds barred as the Engen Volkswagen Cup and Investchem Formula 1600 championships both come to a head with the lower steps of those podiums still to be settled.

Add a tight Hankook Formula Vee tussle, more regional championships going down among the Volkswagen Challenge, autObarn Superhatch and 111 Sports & Saloons plus Red Square Kawakasi ZX10 Masters and races for the Bridgestone Thunderbikes, Sub 10 and Challenge motorcycles and there’s something and more for everyone at Kyalami.

Saturday’s weather forecast predicts a perfect day for an outing and an entertaining day’s extreme entertainment at Kyalami, where spectator embankments offer excellent views of the track and race fans are encouraged to bring and braai. There will be a lunchtime grid walk where spectators can meet the drivers and see the race cars up-close on the starting line and there will be a Galleria Expo Retail Hall too.

General access starts at R50 up to a R400 premium package, pit passes are R75 each and kids under 12 enter free — book now at itickets.co.za. Find out more at www.kyalamigrandprixcircuit.com.
