Boyd ready to fly at iDube kart national
South African Junior Max karting champion Sebastian Boyd is raring to go ahead of his national championship open class DD2 debut at iDube’s opening South African Rotax Max Challenge meeting in the KwaZulu Natal Midlands Saturday 31 March. SACS College Grade 10 student Boyd, who hails from Camps Bay in Cape Town can’t wait to get to grips with arguably the toughest karting opposition in the country right now.
“DD2 is the pinnacle of South African karting at the moment,” Sebastian pointed out. “We race against multiple world and South African karting champions as well as top drivers from all forms of racing so it’s not going to be easy, but we have been working hard on my Boyd Boss Freight Kosmic and I’m looking forward to making a strong impression on my DD2 National debut.
“I also love iDube — it's a challenging track sitting pretty much on the side of a mountain so it’s pretty wild too and I also won the Junior Max National against a tough field there last year, so it’s a happy hunting ground. “That said it’s our first time out in a hugely competitive field so the objective is to be quick, clean and bring it home in the best possible position — I can’t wait!”
