Pepson Plastics Husqvarna Racing enjoyed a mixed start to the MSA South African National Enduro Championships in Robertson in the Western Cape over the weekend, with young gun Matthew Green bringing his Pepson Plastics to a strong result with seventh on his E1 debut, while Taki Bogiages E2 class debut was thwarted by a recent injury en route to being classified 8th. 

It was a solid start for Nottingham Road’s SA Junior Champion Green’s season on his step up to the open E1 class. “That was a great race on the new format — it was a bit tough, especially the last lap in semi-desert conditions through canyons and ravines and over rocky mountains. "It's my first time in this class and it's a learning year for me, but my Pepson Plastics Husqvarna ran like a dream and we brought home some solid points,” Matthew confirmed. “A good start and special thanks to the team and all those who help make this happen!”

Pretoria racer Bogiages started with an injured hand and following a crash two weeks prior. “I felt good before the race and tried to give it a go, but the track was tough and demanding and tested us on our skill and fitness,”Taki explained. "I ended up doing more damage to both my hand and hip, so we decided to stop on lap 3 of 4. “My Pepson Plastics Husqvarna TE300i was brilliant today, but I’m heading home to have everything checked out to make sure I’m back up and fighting fit before the next race. “I can't thank my team enough for a great weekend.”

“Robertson was as tough as ever this year,” Husqvarna Motorcycles South Africa brand manager Fred Fensham explained. “Matty made an impressive step up to the top class, but we decided that Taki should stop, rather than risk complicating his injuries so he’s ready for the rest of a busy season. “We have the PE Rover Enduro at the end of the month and the Bokkeveld Cross Country a week later, so Pepson Plastics Husqvarna Racing is now fully into a busy 2018 race season.”
