Jonathan set for Euro Formula 3 debut

South Africa’s Jonathan Aberdein cannot wait for the long break to be over before he takes to the track for his FIA European Formula 3 debut at the series’ opening round at the Pau street circuit in France over the 11-13 May weekend. 2017 Formula 4 UAE champion Aberdein last raced in the ADAC German Formula 4 finale late last year, but the Cape Town driver has been putting in the laps in his new Motopark Dallara Volkswagen since stepping up to Formula 3, considered to be the next step up the ladder to Formula 1.

“I’m really looking forward to getting the year started at the 77th Grand Prix de Pau!” Jonathan admitted. “The Team has had a productive off season developing the car and I believe that we have a great base to work from this year and now its all about the fine tuning on the race weekend and putting it together on the day. “Pau is a very technical, narrow circuit with not a lot of margin for error, so the strategy is to build up a good rhythm but most importantly keep it out of the wall!”

The Pau race weekend will be live streamed through www.fiaf3europe.com/live with FIA Formula 3 qualifying 16:05 Friday before three races, one at 11h10 Saturday and two more at 11h10 and 15h25 on Sunday.
