Coetzee on form on Zwartkops visit

Durbanville, Cape Town kart racer Jason Coetzee enjoyed a positive sojourn up north for the third round of the Northern Regions DD2 Karting championship at the Zwartkops International Kart Raceway as he worked on his preparations for the African Open at the Pretoria circuit early in July. Coetzee delivered a workmanlike performance as he took a seventh and two fourth places to end up a close fifth, a single point behind Eugene Brittz and Ivana Cetinich in a star-studded field.

“Being at the track I won my South African titles at, I really love racing at Zwartkops and Saturday was a good day at the races,” Jason admitted! “I was helped off the track in race 1 and had to fight back to end up seventh and then race 2 I had a good dice with my EMR Xtreme CRG teammate Umpie Swart and Ivana and came 4th. In race 3 the battle continued and I ended up in front of both of them in fourth for fifth overall and just a point off Eugene in third!

“It was a good day and we will be back, but I need to work harder to be good for a win or a good enough result at the African Open and to hopefully win a seat to get back to the Rotax Max World Finals for the second year in a row — bring it on!”
