Team set to deliver at third national enduro

Pepson Plastics Husqvarna Racing heads to the central Kwazulu Natal village of Tugela Ferry on the front foot for the Impi Hard Enduro, the third round of the 2018 MSA South African National Enduro Championships. It’s been a longer than expected break since the previous race thanks to a calendar reshuffle, but the team is all set for the race and William Oosthuizen, Matthew Green and Taki Bogiages simply cannot wait to get their teeth into the extreme challenges of the Tugela River Valley.

Mossel Bay rider William Oosthuizen heads to KZN tied for the lead for the E1 championship aboard his Pepson Plastics Husqvarna TE 300i and equal second in the overall championship following an overall win and a strong second place in the opening two races. “I had a great ride last time out on my first race as a factory rider,” William confirmed. “That on top of my first round win sees me tied for the championship lead, something I want all to myself when we come home from Tugela Ferry, so I can’t wait for the challenge.”

Nottingham Road SA Junior Enduro Champion Mathew Green cannot wait to take his Pepson Plastics Husqvarna FE250 to local conditions he knows well and aims for another good points haul at the Impi. Green sits sixth in the E2 title race, but right in the middle of a five-way six-point fight for third. “I am starting to get to grips with my bigger new bike and Tugela Ferry is the kind of terrain I like best,” Matt explained. “Pepson Plastics Husqvarna Racing will give me a great machine as usual — now its up to me to deliver — let’s do this!”

National OR2 Cross Country Moto championship leader Taki Bogiages is meanwhile looking to get his SA Enduro championship challenge back on track after he retired hurt from the opening race and was forced to sit out the second round as he recuperated. “I have a little catching up to do on the enduro side,” Taki admitted. “The first two rounds were a little unlucky, but its time to turn it around and my Pepson Plastics Husqvarna FE250 is ready.” It’s a big fortnight for Bogiages, who will travel straight from the double-header Cross Country Moto Toyota 1000 Botswana Desert Race.

“Pepson Plastics Husqvarna Racing is looking forward to another a good weekend in the Tugela River Valley,” Husqvarna Motorcycles South Africa brand manager Fred Fensham concluded. “William Oosthuizen is ready to go one better, rookie Matthew Green is improving by the race and Taki Bogiages is ready to make up on lost ground  — go get it guys!”
