Pepson Plastics Husqvarna riders William Oosthuizen and Matthew Green were two of only three riders to finish in the E1 class on both days of an excruciatingly challenging Umzumbe double header fourth and fifth rounds of the 2018 MSA South African National Enduro Championships over the weekend. It was also a tribute to their Husqvarnas’ prowess that they were among the few machines not to drown over a weekend that saw Oosthuizen consolidate his championship lead and Green move up to third in the E1 championship chase.

“That was a truly extreme test,” Mossel Bay rider William Oosthuizen explained. “Only three bikes out of sixteen starters finished in the E1 class on Friday and four on Saturday and two of them were Pepson Plastics Husqvarnas — so many bikes were eliminated when they drowned in the deep river crossings, but Matthew and me made it through. "A massive thank you to the team, our teammate Brett Swanepoel and everyone who helped out today and a special salute to my amazing Husqvarna.”

“Wow, that was a huge challenge,” Matthew Green from Nottingham Road KZN admitted. “It was a great weekend for me, being one of only three riders to finish both days, but a lot of that was down to the fact that my Pepson Plastics Husqvarna kept on going when so many other bikes bogged down. “I am now up to third in the E1 championship in my learning year and boy, am I learning! “Special thanks to the team and everyone else who helped over an incredible couple of days of riding."

“What an amazing weekend of extreme conditions at the fourth & fifth round of the national enduros championship,” Pepson Plastics Husqvarna team manager Anthony Trichardt concluded. “The boys rode their hearts out — well done to both Matthew Green and William Oosthuizen and a massive thank you to Brett Swanepoel and all the family that helped out over a truly challenging weekend.”
