Duminy on form in Cape Polo Cup
Durban’s Daniel Duminy came home from Cape Town happy with a great performance in Cape Town’s Engen Polo Cup races over the weekend. Duminy enjoyed his best Polo qualifying session yet with third before placing fifth on the grid in Superpole and was dicing Keegan Campos for fourth when slowed by a limp mode issue he quickly overcame to bring it home tenth, before delivering a strong 7th in race 2 for 8th overall.
“That was a hectic day, but I’m not unhappy,” Ballito lad Daniel explained. “My SMD team gave me a great car as always and the pace was there, but once again we just didn’t have the luck — we were on for fourth or fifth in race 1 so it’s a pity I had that little issue with the car.
“The second race was better - I had a good scrap in the lead bunch and seventh was good. “Thanks to the VMR team for everything — Zwartkops is next and that’s the last race of the season, so we’ll be chasing that number 1 spot at our home track — bring it on!”
