The fastest driver’s time lights up purple when race timing screens report the latest fastest lap of the race and that’s something Giordano Lupini has become used to since his Accelerate 102 Special Gasoline/CIR Construction/La Vie de Luc Golf 1 GTi dominated Class C in the opening round of the Burly Pro WP GTi Challenge last time out. Now it’s time for round 2 at Killarney’s Power Series races Saturday 16 March. Lupini is out to continue his purple patch.

“I love to turn my line purple on the timing screen,” 18-year old Vega University B Comm scholar Giordano grinned “That’s something I am keen to keep happening and precisely what we've spent the short time since the last race working on. “The car was exceptional in qualifying and I was delighted with my pole lap, but I had to work hard for my two race wins and we only just squeezed the quickest lap of the day in, so the plan is to be more consistent through the race day going forward.

“We've been crunching the data and Gozzi and the guys at GAP Motorsport have made a few changes. We will test this week before the race, so I’m really looking forward to this race weekend. “I have some pretty hungry rivals out there and a target on my back, so it’s no gimme, but we’re ready to rumble!” 

The Burly Pro GTi Challenge will play as the main curtain raiser to the Campos 600 Mopar SA Endurance season opener, which has drawn a star studded entry to Killarney on Saturday making for a spectacular and full day’s racing. Sounds like the perfect entry for that diary!
