Swart after another Polo win at Aldo

Saturday’s Killarney Burly Pro WP GTi Challenge outing may well be one to forget for Umpie Swart — the Philadelphia lad showed great pace to dominate the first heat following a difficult qualifying, only to have his Alpine Autohaus Polo slow and stop on the final lap to retire and earn him an early shower. Swart now however looks ahead to the fifth round of the Falken Polo Cup in Port Elizabeth this coming weekend, following a maiden win in that series last time out at home at Killarney.

“This past Saturday is one of those days you really don’t mind forgetting,” Umpie rued. “That’s just racing and we'll be back to rectify things in GTi Challenge next month. “But for now its eyes forward and all hands on deck for our Polo Cup adventure to Port Elizabeth this weekend and we head to Nelson Mandela Bay with a spring in our step following my first win in the national series at Killarney last month.

“We have not rested since the last Polo race — I've worked hard with Andrew Goslett and our GAP Motorsport team to be ready for PE and the plan is to get into the top six qualifying shootout and chase another win. “Aldo Scribante is an away match for most GTi drivers, so this one's there for the taking. “And take it exactly what I aim to do!”
