Another W Series points haul for Pepper
South Africa’s W Series women's world championship star Tasmin Pepper continued to impress with a hard fought seventh place in the third round of the Series at Misano in Italy on Saturday. Pepper qualified tenth before making up a few places earlier on and chased home to keep her title effort on the boil in 8th.
“Misano was a treat,” Tasmin confirmed. “I was delighted to get up to seventh in the race after not the best qualifying and happy to come away with a good points haul for the third race in a row. “We struggled a little this weekend and qualifying was not what we wanted, but the race came to me — I managed to pick up a few places early on and chased Spain’s Marta Garcia for most of the rest of the race — I had a small gap over British driver Sarah Moore who was keeping a pretty big pack at bay.
“Now the work begins to prepare for the fourth round back in Germany at the Norisring on 6 July.” Misano’s third W Series round was won by British lass Jamie Chadwick, just half a second ahead of Dutch driver Beitske Visser and pole sitter, Liechtenstein’s Fabienne Wohlwend.
