Giordano can’t wait for GTi Round 5
Overall Burly Pro WP GTi Challenge championship leader Giordano Lupini cannot wait for the fifth round of the series at Killarney on Saturday 6 July. Lupini, who has stamped his authority on the series in dominant style aboard his CiR Construction/La Vie de Luc/Accelerate Special Gasoline Golf 1 GTi, has not sat in his race car since the last meeting and is itching to get back into the thick of it.
“It has been a pretty special season for us so far,” Giordano explained. “The car has been incredible — we've had a great run and I have managed to win seven of the eight races and we sit in a comfortable championship lead, both in class and overall. “We however still have ten heats to race this year and knowing how fickle this sport can be after two terrible seasons in a row, it's all very much still to do.
“I have also not driven my CiR/La Vie de Luc/Accelerate Golf since the last race as I have had mid-year exams,” the Vega University BCom freshman explained. “But they're all done now, so we can now focus fully on next weekend. "We have a few things to try and I look forward to what Gozzi and the GAP Motorsport guys have in mind and from there it’s all about consolidating our championship lead. “Bring it on!”
