New Navaras for Red-Lined attack

Red-Lined Motoring Adventures takes the short trip to the Bronkhorstspruit 400 with a three-car team to take on fifth round of the SA National Cross Country Series over the 2-3 August weekend. With team principal Terence Marsh out to a back injury following a mountain bike incident, the team will comprise of Jaco van Dyk and Michel Rust, Schalk Burger and Elvine Vonk, and Ernest Roberts and Henry Kohne taking to the barren mielie fields east of Pretoria in a trio of Red-Lined Nissan Navaras.

Namibian rookies Van Dyk and Rust will be out to build on their Desert Race Road to Dakar winning Desert Race performance aboard their familiar 24-7 Race Fuels Red-Lined Navara. “We had a dream result last time out and won ourselves a Dakar entry,” Jaco confirmed. “Now we need to keep our balance of pace and reliability and bring home more great results and to also keep our 100% finishing rate for this year intact."

Another star rookie driver, Roberts races with Henry Kohne in the hot seat for the first time this weekend in the absence of regular navigator Riaan Greyling and is keen for a return to his early season form following a tough break in the Desert. Roberts will also debut a brand new front-mid engined 5.6-litre Nissan VK 56 V8-powered JCP Roofing Red-Lined Navara in Gauteng. “There’s plenty new this weekend — a new car with its more powerful and nimbler chassis and I have a new co-driver in Henry too,” Ernest explained. “But hey, what’s life without the challenge of a new adventure!"

Burger and Vonk have also enjoyed a 100% finish rate in their King Price Red-Lined Navara in 2019 and they are chasing a top result at Bronkhorstspruit as they also step up to a new VK56 Navara. Like van Dyk and Rust, Schalk and Elvine are a former rally crew adapting to the rigours of Cross Country motorsport: “We're chasing to keep our 100% rookie year finishing record,” Schalk pointed out. “We are also excited to step up to the new car this weekend — let the adventure continue!"

The new Red-Lined Navaras have their more powerful Nismo-built Patrol-derived VK-56 V8 engines mounted lower and further back in the chassis for better balance and more nimble handling. “We are excited about this new step forward,” Terence Marsh concluded. “The new cars handle better and are faster in a straight line too, so it’s an all round step ahead — let’s see what their debut brings — go get it guys!"
