Lupini’s team flat out to make Killarney

It’s been a mad couple of weeks for Giordano Lupini’s title chasing CIR Construction/La Vie de Luc Mineral Water/Accelerate Special Gasoline Golf GTi team since his dramatic exit from the last round of the Burly Pro GTi Challenge. Lupini suffered a major accident after a front hub broke causing total brake failure that saw his damaged Golf end upside-down atop Killarney’s Turn 5 tyre barrier.

The team has since raced to get the car ready for action in time for Saturday 7 September’s 7th round races at Killarney and keep Giordano in the overall title chase, with Paarden Island panel shop acciDent Guru living up to its carSave promise to turn Old Yeller around in just two weeks. The repaired car is now back at GAP Motorsport, which is now working flat out to have the rescued machine race ready and competitive.

“Luckily, thanks to the acciDent Guru’s incredible work, the body work of my Golf is already pristine again — “The car is looking better than ever and now GAP Motorsport is chasing to be sure we’re ready to attack round 7 and go for maximum points" Giordano explained.

"Things are getting tight at the top of the overall title chase after our disaster last race, so it's full focus on opening up a lead again — we are still in a strong position in Class C, but all that trouble has eroded my overall title advantage. “So this weekend is all about damage limitation and best possible results to head to the last two rounds off a strong base — bring it on!”
