Can Ghazi repeat first win at home?

Dainfern lad Ghazi Motlekar returns to home ground at Zwartkops for Saturday’s Gauteng under-13 Mini Max karting finale following a victorious trip to Cape Town a few weeks ago. Motlekar headed off to the lion’s den to race and learn in the final round of the Cape karting championships that weekend and promptly won his first ever race. Now he hopes to take his first home win too.

“We went to Cape Town to learn and prepare for the 2020 season,” Ghazi explained. “But the weekend stepped up a rung or two when I found myself on my first ever pole position at Killarney before I drove the race of my life to score my first ever racing win in the first heat! “That was a wonderful weekend and we learned so much, but now it’s back to familiar ground for the Gauteng Finals this weekend and I hope to repeat the feat at Zwartkops…

“That may not be easy considering I will have to beat World Finals star and my SA champion teammate Troy Snyman, Muhammad Wally and Matthew Morrell this weekend, but the Cape kids are very strong and my mentor Wesleigh Orr has a few tricks up his sleeve, so I am keen to see how I go against my regular rivals. “Either way, I can’t wait and we are looking forward to another great weekend of racing —  bring it on!”
