Mokoena takes an OKJ win. And a hit

Kyalami karting king Kwanda Mokoena ended his racing season with a bang on Saturday, if you’d excuse the pun! Mokoena delivered two decisive Northern Regions Rok Cup OKJ season finale race wins at Vereeniging and took the day overall, in spite of a last race incident that robbed him of a potential final heat win too.

“What a great way to end my karting season,” Kwanda admitted. “I qualified a very close second and went on to take the first race win and followed that up with another win in race 2. “Unfortunately one of my rivals and I collided in the final and that robbed me of the triple for the day, but hey, that’s racing and I still won the day, so all good!

“I would like to thank everyone who made this season such a success — Mpho, Tabs and my whole Squadra Corse family for a splendid kart and all the support, my family and especially my dad for everything he does for me. “Also to all my competitors too, the officials and the rest — without you guys none of this would be possible.

“Now for a good break through the holidays and then 2020 — bring it on!”
