Jarvis joins Swanepoel & Green on Roof

Husqvarna Racing heads to the jewel of the Southern African Hard Enduro crown Roof of Africa with a powerful three-man team to take on the best in the world in the Maluti Mountains. British extreme enduro legend Graham Jarvis is back in pursuit of his fifth Roof of Africa win aboard his Rockstar Energy Husqvarna, alongside SA Pepson Plastics Husqvarna duo, Brett Swanepoel and Matthew Green.

Jarvis has a gold medal filled career spreading from five British Trials titles and four Scottish Six Days Trial wins before moving across to extreme enduro, where he has racked up six Red Bull Romaniacs, five Erzberg Rodeo and Red Bull Hare Scramble and four Red Bull Sea to Sky victories alongside his four Roof of Africa wins. “I can't wait to get back to Lesotho to attack the Malutis aboard my Rockstar Husqvarna,” Graham admitted.

“The objective is to go back home with Roof win number five, but that is a bit easier said than done — my main rival Wade Young is also after his fifth win and the rest want to beat both of us. “There are some interesting Roof of Africa changes this year — the Round the Houses and Endurocross bring a cool element and I am looking forward to racing with the local Husqvarna team and meeting all my South African and Lesotho friends again."

Salt Rock KZN star Brett Swanepoel heads to Lesotho fresh off a win in the Port Elizabeth SA national finale. “I am super-amped for the Roof of Africa,” Brett confirmed. “I ended my local season with my first win today since an injury that almost ended my career and I'm now able to ride my Husqvarna flat out again, which is perfect timing for Roof of Africa. “The Roof has always been a good race for me and knowing my Pepson Plastics team will prepare me a perfect Husqvarna, I am really looking forward to conquering the Malutis”

Hard enduro expert, Nottingham Road KZN lad Matthew Green is another Pepson Plastics Husqvarna rider itching to race the Roof and being the only South African to bring a Romaniacs gold medal home this year, the youngster is primed for a strong run in Lesotho. “I have had a strong season both overseas and locally, but the Roof is always the big one for us and I plan to end my hard enduro season in style on home soil. “I can’t wait!”

“Pepson Plastics Husqvarna Racing with Liqui Moly is locked and loaded for the Roof of Africa,” Husqvarna South Africa Motorcycles brand manager Fred Fensham concluded. “We have British Rockstar Energy Husqvarna hard enduro superstar Graham Jarvis joining our local lads Brett Swanepoel and Matthew Green in Lesotho, but sadly we race without our 2019 SA 200cc E1 champion William Oosthuizen, who has been sidelined for medical reasons — we wish him a speedy recovery.

“The Roof of Africa is not just the top point of the South African enduro racing season but also one of the highlights of the international hard enduro year too and we head to Lesotho with an all-star Husqvarna line-up ready to strike gold — bring it home guys!”

The Motul Roof of Africa commences with documentation and scrutineering Wednesday 4 December before the action starts with the famous Roof Round the Houses that returns on the streets of Maseru this year and the Gold Class Endurocross on Thursday. That all determines the starting order of Friday’s 120km of extreme Maluti Mountain riding, before more of the same on Saturday.
