TreasuryOne duo right back on Dakar track

South African TreasuryOne Motorsport duo Hennie de Klerk and Johann Smalberger enjoyed a great day at Dakar 2020 Saudi Arabia as they powered their Red-Lined Nissan Navara home 26th on a problem free day at the office. The result also saw the duo back on track for their objective of a top-twenty finish come the finish at Quiddiah on Friday.

“Today was great — we had a very good run and it seems we had no penalties or anything like that, so all good,” Hennie pointed out. “We also had a great run in the dunes and did not get stuck once and we even had a few cool airborne moments — all under control, of course! “So let’s just say we are quite happy with today — I think if we keep this up we will be back on for our top twenty objective.

“Johann and I are also still suffering with a little flu so we are hoping to get over that and be ready for a strong run through this week.  Sadly, we came home to the sad news of Dakar biker Paulo Gonçalves losing his life after a fall today — on behalf of all of us at TreasuryOne Motorsport we express our sincere condolences to his family, friends, team and rivals.”
