Troy all set for a mega weekend of karting

South African under-13 Rotax Mini Max karting champion Troy Snyman is limbering up to a monster weekend at the track as he prepares for double duty at the double header national championship races at Zwartkops on 19 and 20 September. Pietermaritzburg lad Snyman will drive in no less than twelve races over the two days.

“I will be doing quite a bit of racing this weekend,” Troy grinned. “Rotax Max Challenge decided to run two Zwartkops national championship rounds back-to-back over two days to catch up after lockdown, which means everyone will be racing six heats. “But I'm racing in both Junior and Mini Max, so it’s double-double duty for me!”

“I have not had the best of starts to my season, so the objective is just to go for the best possible results and enjoy a huge weekend of racing at this kart fest. “Weekends like this don’t come around that often!”

The weekend's races are due to run without spectators, with all competitors and officials adhering to strict lockdown protocols. The races will however be live streamed via www.kart.co.za. Be sure to log in to follow Troy’s progress.
