South Africa’s 2016 karting world champion Jayden Els started racing in July 2011, when he was given a kart for this 7th birthday. He was soon racing in the Cadet class and was quickly on the pace to end up second in the 2012 championship. 2016 was a big year for Jayden. Racing in under-13 karting, he delivered an epic come from behind Rotax Mini Max African Open win to book his seat to the under World Mini Max Finals in Italy. 

There he came from tenth on the Final grid to scythe through the field and stand as world champion. 

Jayden then progressed through karting and on to a double campaign on the main circuit in a competitive stint in Polo Cup, and on stage in SA National rallying. His navigator had to drive their rally car on the road sections because Jayden was still too young to take his driving test! Same happened when he stepped across to rally raid, initially in a Renault.

Jayden's King Price JE Motorsport team then acquired their Red-Lined built former Dakar SVR prototype. Jayden soon once again raised eyebrows with his pace, but the championship’s switch up to latest Ultimate T1+ specification left the then slower SVR racing in the T1 Adventurer class. That and pestering technical troubles urged the team to modify the SVR to T1+ Ultimate specifications for 2024...
