Lupini cannot wait to resume his epic Killarney GTi battle

Bullion IT Banhoek Chilli Oil Jetta CLI racer Giordano Lupini cannot wait to continue his Class B cheapercars GTi Challenge championship battle with arch rival Eden Thompson in the sixth round races at Killarney Saturday 7 August. The pair has won a race apiece in each of the four rounds since Lupini returned to the fray and the Franschhoek lad is more than ready to resume his epic battle.

“We have enjoyed a brilliant fight with Eden since we arrived back a race into the season in April,” 2019 Class C champion Giordano explained. “We have each won four of the eight races so far, one each per meeting. “But whenever we thought we'd found an advantage with our Bullion Banhoek Jetta, they have come back with an answer to that with Eden’s Polo and that really is making for a thrilling race season!

“He has a slight weight disadvantage and his car is better on some parts of the track, but our old faithful works better elsewhere. “And whenever we bring updates, so it seems they do — so much so that both of us are now consistently lapping far quicker than anyone ever has in Class B. “We have had a better haul though and we're within a handful of championship points in the class championship chase and it’s getting closer every race. “Epic stuff!”

“I have a great team with my team manager Nian du Toit, race engineer Chase Herholdt and the NDT Racing team in my corner and the best we can do is bring our A game again on Saturday. “So I cannot wait to get back behind the wheel of the Bullion IT Banhoek Chilli Oil Jetta. “Bring it on!”
