Gqeberha braced for G&H Experience Supercar action
The G&H Extreme Supercars are off on their annual sojourn to Nelson Mandela Bay for the Extreme Festival’s away meeting at the Aldo Scribante race track on Saturday 9 October. And it’s all to play for following the previous round where the title chase was considerably shaken up, with the Balance of Performance GT3 class a main Gqeberha attraction this weekend.
Championship protagonists, Gianni Giannoccaro’s G&H Transport Lamborghini Gallardo Supertrofeo, Ricky Giannoccaro’s similar BISC machine and Mark du Toit’s Trans Africa Racing Ferrari F430 GT3 will have a little extra to think about in PE. That courtesy of the surprise of the last meeting at Zwartkops, teenage Polo SupaCup driver and former karter Mikaeel Pitamber, who put his Pablo Clark Ferrari 458 GT3 on pole position and went on to win a heat too.
Class A Plus is another melting pot that promises an interprovincial battle between upcountry men, Charl Arangies and his Into Africa Stradale Lamborghini Huracan, Ben Morgenrood in his monster winged Morgenrood Motors Lexus V8 that proved so competitive last time out, and Paulo Loureiro’s Combined BMW 335i. They will have their work cut out by Cape visitor Dayne Angel’s wild Autohaus Angel Porsche 911 GT2 and local man Aldo Scribante’s mad Audi RS4.
Expect action right down the field in the classes as Jonathan du Toit’s Trans Africa Racing Ferrari takes on Xolile Letlaka in his Into Africa Stradale McLaren 650S, Rick Loureiro’s Combined BMW in Class A, Giacomo Giannoccoro’s G&H Transport BMW M4 leads the Class B charge, Marius Jackson’s MJR Motorsport Audi R8 LMS GT4 races in Class C and Uli Sanne’s BMW Z4 chases Class D glory.
It remains uncertain when spectators will be allowed back to sporting events, but follow the action via the Extreme Festival and Aldo Scribante’s social media platforms.
