Giordano Lupini has resorted to a trusted ally as he prepares for his final GTi Challenge outing of the season in his Bullion IT Banhoek Chilli Oil Jetta CLi at Killarney Saturday 6 November. The championship decider just happens to be the annual one-hour race, for which each car requires a second driver who has not raced in the series this year, to race for half the distance. Giordano had no hesitation to invite Challenge veteran Ebrahim Levy to bring his trusty Jetta home.

“Ebrahim and I shared my Class C Golf for the previous GTi challenge one hour,” Giordano explained. “I handed him the car in the class lead and not only did he bring the car home to wrap up my class title with a win, but we also ended up fourth overall in the little Golf! “The one hour is always a tricky one with a sting in the tail. “It also counts for double points, which still keeps the Class B championship open, albeit a long shot. “But then look what happened in the DTM!”

“I am counting the sleeps until the GTi Challenge one hour race,” an excited Ebrahim Levy admitted. “Gio and I had a great outing together last time out and watching him drive the Jetta, it looks like a great car to race. “We were fourth overall in a Class C car last time we shared in this race, so I can’t wait to see where we end up in a Class B car on Saturday. “Thanks to Gio and the Bullion Banhoek Jetta team for a great opportunity!”

Giordano returned to the cheapercars GTi Challenge a race into the 2021 season and has had a good run in Class B to now sit second in Class B and fourth overall in the GTi Challenge title race. “We had a great start to our campaign, but I've been a little unlucky and we made a few mistakes in the last couple of rounds,” Giordano concluded. “So it would be cool to end the Bullion Banhoek Jetta’s season off strong, with a little help from Ebrahim."
