So you want to drive in a 24-hour endurance race? Bucketlist racing is ready to help you tick that one off
So what’s on your bucket list?
For South African trio Uli Sanne, Theo van Vuuren and Greg Wilson and Zimbabwean Darren Winterboer, competing in an international 24 hour endurance race was a significant bucket list tick. Kris Budnik, Freddie Pretorius and the Bucketlist Racing team were happy to oblige and before that quartet knew it, their BMW was on the grid and ready to race in the Dubai 24.
The International 24-hour series caters for all form of racing machinery and the intrepid crew was soon circulating among the best GT3 cars in the world as they fought it out for class honours through the night to Sunday morning. 23 hours in, the Bucket List BMW was still running like a proverbial freight train and besides routine maintenance, everything had gone to plan.
But lady luck was not on the team’s side and the Beemer was caught up in a last hour accident to retire. So near, yet so far.
“Can you believe it!” team boss Budnik sighed. “With just an hour to go the worst possible happened! “But our Bucketlist BMW performed flawlessly for 456 race laps completed, but the finish is what counts… “We will be back!”
The appropriately named Bucketlist Racing is a South African endurance race team specializing in providing a means for experienced race drivers seeking to tick international endurance races off their bucket lists by competing in 24-hour races including the recent Dubai race as well as the Misano 24 in Italy in July, the Barcelona 24 in September and the Austin 24 in Texas USA in November. The team has drives available in its proven BMW 340i in all three races.
Bucketlist Racing will also run a newly-restored Oreca Dodge Viper GTS-R in the South African Endurance Series and the team has drives available in that car for 2017 too. Bucketlist Racing provides a turnkey arrive and drive racing solution to professional or gentleman drivers for the whole season, or for individual races of either series.
Run by Kris Budnik, Bucketlist Racing cars are prepared, maintained and looked after at the races by top SA race engineer Freddie Pretorius and the team. Contact Kris Budnik direct at email@example.com for a quotation and more info on how you can tick that 24-hour Bucket List race off your list…
“Although we were gutted by that late crash, the Dubai 24 has very well proven our point,” Budnik concluded. “Our Bucketlist BMW performed flawlessly and short of scheduled tyre and brake pad changes; nothing else needed attention. "Even though we did not see the chequered flag, the team and drivers did a phenomenal job and now we are ready to deliver the dream to any suitably qualified driver.
