2016 Western Cape DD2 karting champion Julian van der Watt cannot wait to get racing again following the off season, starting with the opening round of the WP Karting Championship at Killarney this weekend. Julian will once again race his DD2 Zanardi alongside another season in the new wings & slicks SA Formula Ford Championship.

“It’s always great to get back to racing after a break,” Julian admitted.  “We will have quite a competitive class in DD2 in the Cape this year - it seems there are a few more guys in the class and most of my old rivals are back, so bring it on!” 

Julian is also looking forward to getting to grips with his new Investchem Formula Ford racer in preparation for the opening races at Killarney at the end of March. “Wins and Slicks will bring a new dimension to Formula Ford and I can’t wait for the new challenges that will bring. “But first we have some karting business to attend to - see you at Killarney on Saturday!”
